Episcopal Church Office on Public Affairs provides a report of the March meeting of the Task Force for Re-imagining the Episcopal Church (TREC):
We spent most of Friday working with the feedback that we have received thus far from throughout the church, including from the engagement kit, blogs, website postings, direct conversation, and a variety of other sources. We found the feedback formational for our ongoing work, and we very much appreciate the time and energy people put into engaging with us. Given the continued activity with the engagement kit, we have decided to keep it open and hope that more members will utilize it in small groups and large. Please continue to give us feedback through all different forums as we work toward our final report to be submitted later this year.

“Our work followed the rhythms of the traditional monastic hours utilizing Daily Prayers for All Seasons.”
Is part of this re-imagining ditching our Book of COMMON Prayer? I’m sorry, I know snark and throwing tomatoes from the peanut gallery isn’t particularly helpful but c’mon…really? What’s wrong with the BCP Office?
What more can we expect from our TEC Imagineers? A book? A film? A theme park? How about a change from our Downton Abbey attitude that everybody who should be an Episcopalian is an Episcopalian to really meaning that church welcoming sign. Probably do a lot more good than getting out the long knives to slash one or another part of the church’s governance according to one’s predilections, high or low.
