Despite protests from Catholic bishops, an American-based group, Catholics for Choice (CFC), is refusing to back down on running advertisements in Kenya supporting condom use to battle the spread of HIV/AIDS.
In response, Catholic bishops in Kenya have posted on their Web site:
We the Catholic Bishops wish to state the following:
1. “Catholics for choice” are not Catholics in the sense of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
2. Catholics are Pro Life and not “Pro Choice”.
3. The Catholic Church teaches that sex is good and sacred in the context of marriage. Thus married couples are encouraged to be faithful in their marriage, and the young people are encouraged to remain chaste until marriage.
4. We, in communion with the Universal Catholic community, therefore disassociate ourselves completely from this advert and advise all Catholics and people who believe in the sanctity of life and dignity of the human person to ignore it.

I guess the Catholic Bishops made “windows into their souls”. Thank God I’m Anglican—God bless TEC!

What bearing does condom use have on “the sanctity of life,” Bishops? Is the equation now “failure to impregnate”=abortion=murder?

I ask Roman Catholic bishops the same question over and over: Why don’t you set the example for the flock by marrying and procreating? Do your part, bishops.
