“ENDA, a bill that would bar employer discrimination against gays and transsexuals, got 62 votes in the Senate this afternoon,” writes Kevin Drum of Mother Jones. But:” Speaker John A. Boehner reiterated his objections to the bill on Monday, releasing a statement that said he believed it would invite too many lawsuits.”
So is this a meaningful victory, and if so, in what way?

The thing that I do not understand is that while they are opposing all these things, they are invoking the name of Jesus. My mind cannot wrap itself around that fact.
Indeed, Paul. Or to put it another way, why do Republicans have such difficulty with Jesus Christ and Luke 6:31? After all, that is where he sets the gospel basis of anti-discrimination (and as a command, not a suggestion): “Treat others the same way you want to be treated.”

(Rhetorical) Why do Republicans have such difficulty with the idea of justice and equal rights under the law for all? Gay rights, women’s reproductive rights, voting rights, ethnic rites, health rights, educational rights, etc., etc., etc.
Not sure how all their anti-justice and equality stance does much to model the American exceptionalism they love to claim.
