Alberto Cutié to have talk show on FOX

by

The New York Magazine reports that Episcopal priest, the Rev. Aberto Cutié, also known as ‘Padre Beto’, will return to television this summer.

The controversial former Catholic priest and Telemundo personality, who left the [Roman Catholic] Church … will get his own talk and advice show on Fox stations in New York and Los Angeles this summer. After a few-week audition, Fox brass will decide whether the now-Episcopalian minister (sic) should get his own full-time program in 2012.

More from the Sun Sentinel:

The daily show will feature the priest, who was ordained last year in the Episcopal Church. In December, he and his wife, Ruhama Buni Cutie, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Camila Victoria.

Cutie previously hosted a popular show on the Spanish-language Telemundo Network. That led to his nickname: “Father Oprah.”

  1. I think his Orders were recognized; he was not re-ordained. I wish Rome would pay Anglicanism the same courtesy.

  2. I sincerely hope that this is an attempt by Fr. Cutie to reach and teach the dis-affected of his former communion about the Episcopal Church as he has discovered it to be. It troubles me that he had to align himself to Fox, which means that many of us will never access his program, having become part of a national boycott movement against that alleged 'news' company.

  3. We should clarify. This is not the Fox News network. Fox has other networks (e.g., sports) and it has local affiliates. I presume this program is going into local affiliate markets.
