The always thoughtful Kelvin Holdsworth, Provost of St Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow has a recent post on his blog suggesting that the Five Marks of Mission, though good things, may not really get to the heart of how churches can share the good news and grow.

Archbishop Takeli spoke about building a new community of God’s people in the province; and called on all Anglicans in the Province to engage with his vision of an emerging church. “This vision forms God’s appointed plan to renew His church in the Anglican Church in the Province of Melanesia today,” the Archbishop said. “The vision is to develop this church to grow mature in her spiritual, socio-political, cultural, and economic well-being.
“When the adrenaline was flowing yesterday, I didn’t feel anything,” he said. “But this morning…after getting phone calls and texts, it hit us, and with that, we are so thankful that the Lord has given us the opportunity to still be able to serve him and also to help others. “But it is devastating, very devastating.”
