The Right Rev. Gregory O. Brewer, Bishop of the Central Florida Diocese baptized Jackson Canut McCaffrey; the son of Rich and Eric McCaffrey. The baptism took place at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke Orlando on the day of the Cathedral’s Patronal Feast.
The Church of Ireland celebrates 25th Anniversary of the first woman ordained to the priesthood
Twenty–five years of women’s ministry in the Church of Ireland was celebrated at a service in Christ Church Cathedral on Sunday morning (18 OCT). The service took place close to the anniversary of the ordination to the priesthood of Canon Ginnie Kennerley who was ordained in the cathedral on 21 OCT 1990 by Archbishop Donald Caird.
Historic United Churches in the US & Canada enter Full Communion
An agreement of full communion took effect the evening of 19 OCT, when the leaders of the Canada-based United Church of Canada and the US-based United Church of Christ gathered at St Andrews United Church in Niagara Falls ON and signed the document of communion during a worship celebration.
The Primates’ Meeting of the Porvoo Communion releases Communique
Over the 20 to 22 OCT the primatial leaders of the 15 member churches of the Porvoo Communion met in Edinburgh Scotland. The Porvoo Communion represents the majority of the Lutheran and Anglican churches of mostly Northern Europe. With the conclusion of the meeting the gathered leaders released a communique.
