The Pope has announced new rules for annulments of Roman Catholic marriages which will streamline the process for those wishing to remarry after divorce while remaining in good standing with the church.

This afternoon, one day before her trial was due to begin, former bishop Heather Cook pleaded guilty to charges filed after the death of Thomas Palermo last December.
“Following a hearing at the Central Criminal Court today Bishop Peter Ball has pleaded guilty to two charges of indecent assault and one charge of misconduct in public office.”
Heather Cook, former Suffragan Bishop of Maryland, will appear in court this afternoon, one day ahead of her scheduled trial date.
