I wanted to suggest that maybe if Americans could see the cross in the light of the lynching tree, they might be able to understand what the cross really meant in the 1st century and what the cross might mean for the people who have put other people on crosses.
The Diocese of Brisbane, which is led by Archbishop Phillip Aspinall of Australia, a key player in Anglican Communion politics, has passed up a chance to support the proposed Anglican Covenant.

Bishop Kirk Smith: Although much work still needs to be done to insure that law abiding immigrants in our country are treated in a just and humane manner, I view the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down much of SB1070 as unconstitutional as a step in the right direction, although I wish that it had gone further.
