What did you hear, see, read, say, touch, or sing that caught your eye or brought you close to God? Where were the “thin places”?

helping us to grow
“Over all, we’ve made life richer for the people who have the social capital to create their own worlds. We’ve also made it harder for the people who don’t — especially poorer children.”
Not once did Jesus ask “the Romans to lower their taxes or lessen their regulations on over-burdened businesses.”
I hear him saying that that not only would the proposed Covenant change relationships, but that indeed it already has, and that it is hoped that staking a claim based on conscience will not prove any further relational injury.
We are to look at ourselves with conscious penitence. We are to confess, and to know our forgiveness. We are to take responsibility for our corporate brokenness and injustice. And we are to commit our selves to a new way, the disciplines of individual goodness and corporate reform.
We’d like to hear from clergy who participated in the Ashes to Go initiative. How did you encounter God today?
Opening the eyes of our faith can be painful. It sometimes reveals glimpses of things about ourselves we’d rather not address. Yet one of the recurring themes of the Good News in Christ is that the God that calls us again and again to return is also the God of do-overs–and that our open eyes of faith have the power to open doors for others to view the glories of Heaven on earth.
