Keating illuminates Jesus' "formula" in which we can enter and deepen our relationship with God.

By "formula" Keating does not mean shortcut. He means a working or workable procedure, or what cooks call a recipe - a starting place, depending on what ingredients, experience and creativity one has.

If Christ's formula for uniting with the Divine Presence inside each one of us were more deliberately and clearly taught in all our churches, I think tens of thousands of Episcopalians would be grateful - would know and use the formula - would find their lives transformed - would grow in loyalty to and ministry within the Church - and would learn the quiet evangelism we do best.

To heal and grow our Church, we don't need new management systems or program initiatives so much as we need to teach Christ's formula for uniting our souls to God. Any Church that can teach that is bound to grow in grace.
