    As hard as it is, shouldn’t we also add Nancy and Adam Lanza to this list?

    I began my secondary level teaching career in a Jewish school, a setting that drilled into me the importance of school security and the existence of people who were bent on penetrating it, people who would kill my students and colleagues given the chance. I’ve given some thought to the possibility of the sort of assault that happened at Newtown, and how I might react. I hope that if (God forbid) I’m ever faced with that danger, I find the strength to act as the staff at Sandy Hook Elementary School did.
