McDonald's "Come as you are" ad

A McDonald's ad featuring a gay teenager, running on French television, has generated a few spates in this country. What do you make of it?

I found that it seemed more like a PSA than a McDonald's commercial. I'm not the biggest fan of the corporation, by any stretch, but this kind of acceptance is a good sign.

Even as a gay person, I did not like this commercial. What in the world does this "story" have to do with burgers and fries?
