For the Bible Tells Me So
For the Bible Tells Me So, a documentary by Daniel Karlsake about conservative Christian families coming to terms with their children's homosexuality, had its Washington premier last night. The movie features interviews with Bishop Gene Robinson and his parents.
Have a look at the film's Web site, read a review, find out more about the director, and find a screening near you.
While you are at it, have a look at this item from Common Sense, which suggests that th "professional intolerance movement" is on the wane.

I followed the links and was especially moved by the comments by the director as to why he felt called to do the documentary.
This film very much needed to be done. I wish it a long and successful run and a long, active life on DVD after that.

I'd seen the film a month or so ago and we screened it at All Saints, Pasadena last weekend to a SRO crowd that included at least HALF "first time at All Saints" folks.
Followed the screening with a panel discussion and Q&A with a biblical scholar, psychologist and one of the film's asst. producers.
Great evening. GREAT opportunity for evangelism.
Now let's keep our eye on the Oscar documentary nominations ... it could happen! :)
