"Being gay is a gift from God"

Video from the Rev. Dr. Ed Bacon's follow-up visit on Oprah is now available. Bacon is rector of All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena.

Notice that at the end of this video Oprah mentions Bacon will be on a Spirituality 101 webcast this evening at 9 PM Eastern (scroll to end).

Our earlier post is here.

glaadBlog has a good coverage of the story.

A biography of the Rev. Dr. Ed Bacon is available at Oprah's Soul Series, along with earlier webcasts.

Susan Russell, a priest in Ed's parish has been following the Oprah story closely. She suggests writing Winfrey a thank you note to counter voluminous mail objecting to Ed's appearance.

It's remarkable that Ed is getting all of this attention and that he is using it in this way. Coupled with Bishop Robinson's invitation to give an invocation at an inaugural event, it is really a high tide media moment for Christians who favor full inclusion.

Good for Ed! Good for Oprah! Now if we could just get the whole Episcopal Church USA to embrace it!
