A miscellany of interesting and encouraging bits from the news - kids against hunger, Lady Gaga Mass, and knitting your way into the royal wedding:
They don't want anyone to suffer or starve, and that's why local volunteers were packing up food on Sunday morning. A couple of Toledo (Ohio) Episcopal Churches took part in a Kids Against Hunger Food. Many volunteers were at St. Michael's in the Hills, in Ottawa Hills, and the goal was to pack 20,000 dry meals for people in Guatemala who need them.
If you’re needled about not being invited to the royal wedding, don’t despair – for now you can knit yourself there. Among the wealth of tea towels, printed plates and specially forged coins, this unusual souvenir kit has emerged, featuring knitting patterns for ten ‘characters’ from William and Kate’s nuptials. These include the bride and groom, the Queen and Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams. And, of course, the corgis.
