When the personal development company I work with, AVANT, offered an opportunity to help families living in the Lower 9th Ward who are still struggling from Hurricane Katrina and now the BP oil spill, I could not resist the urge I had that this was truly my chance to do something about it. The plan involved working closely with an organization called Family to Family to create a vegetable garden, build a food pantry and then stock it, at the All Souls Episcopal Church in the heart of the Lower 9th
