Further adventures in Anglican self-trivialization

We have been covering the various maneuverings ahead of the January meeting of the Primates of the Anglican Communion.

It is possible that at least some primates who think that God frowns upon physical intimacy among LGBT Christians, even in the context of a committed, monogamous relationship, will boycott the meeting to avoid the company of other primates who disagree with them on this issue. Apparently, it is also possible that the meeting can be saved--saved, I tell you--by a format in which primates who disagree with one another could attend the same meeting without actually having to, um, meet.

The silliness of this aside--and you have to admit, it is pretty silly--the question is: does it matter one way or another whether the Primates meet? Does it matter who attends? Since the consecration of Gene Robinson as the Bishop of New Hampshire, a significant number of primates have attempted to use these meetings as an opportunity to inflict damage on the Episcopal Church, preferably by replacing it with the Anglican Church in North America. Am I wrong in thinking that it is in the best interest of our Church for these meetings not to occur--or to occur without our adversaries present?

Some of the primates of the Anglican Communion apparently thank God they are not like other people: thieves, rogues, adulterers, or even like this Episcopal Church.

My question: Does it matter that a primates meeting is held and some primates are excluded from the "real meeting" by the ruse of multiple meetings?

Yes. Particularly if those excluded include the only woman amongst them.

Why don't they all stay home and donate to Nets for Life

Escaping from REALITY and difficult/embarrassing TRUTHS by blaming, shaming and punishing others at The Anglican Communion Primates Meetings is unhealthy for all...self-righteous loathing of others is a very bad example of Christian Stewardship/witness and ¨charity¨ especially when acted-out by Primates who ought lead and not deceive...these are deeds of Anglican champions engaging in acts of Christian wisdom, morals or ethics.

I continue to be astounded by the various Anglican Primates from various CAPA/GS/GAFCON provinces who are unable to face the reality of the desperate and greedy/deadly corrupt circumstances embedded in their HOME jurisdictions.

I realize we ALL have much to focus on within our own REAL everyday life ¨situations¨ but I would strongly suggest that CAPA Primates/Bishops start engaging with reality, listening to others and stop assuming they ¨know¨ the minds, hearts and REAL character of everyone else in the Anglican Communion World...they don´t. Few of these men, and they are men, are showing the ability to tackle moral and social ¨issues¨ at home without inspiring more pain (laws against LGBTI citizens), causing public insurrection (Yelwa comes to mind) and by perpetuating ignorance by repeating untruth as fact.

Anglican Bishops Tutu (retired) and Christopher Ssenynojo (retired/excommunicated) are amongst those who deal with REALITY and not superstition. These men are compassionate/understanding ,open to listening and love all their brothers and sisters easily/naturally.

It has recently been revealed through various HIV-AIDS studies that ¨same sex¨ attractions and relationships in Africa are, in the majority, a result of homegrown Bi-sexual interaction and NOT Western Imports at all. HERE

Understanding can be gained by not only by listening to the REAL facts but by paying attention to the deadly hate/fear-based propaganda, superstitious fiction and regional taboos that are feardriven and in themselves often loaded with denial, pretend and shame/blame-mongering.

The Primates really need to start dealing with ¨shared¨ REAL facts and stop with the deceitfilled pontificating or NOT meet at all...they waste time, money and whatever personal integrity they would like us to think they have.

It would seem that the branches of the "Anglican Communion" are mutually exclusive. And once again the "old boys club" says that girls can't join, nor can anyone else the boys don't like.

Why is the Episcopal Church persisting in banging its collective head against the wall of bias and prejudice? Do we really need to be part of a "Communion" that demeans our chosen leader?

Permitting women to celebrate is not the issue, the reservation of power amongst the current list of approved persons is the issue. If the purity of the clergy were important, if they were serious about adherence to Scripture, then priests would have to be selected only from amongst Jews; and not just Jews, but those descended from Levi. How silly, how completely unlike Christ.

@David Fleer
David, the priests had to be descended from Aaron, the brother of Moses. The Levites were the vergers and acolytes and were the descendants of Levi, one of the 12 sons of Jacob/Isreal. This is why the parable of the Good Samaritan mentions both a priest and a Levite, because they were two different things, from two different genealogical linages.

But I get your point.

I think this all goes back to the existence of Literalism, even in this day and age. It is sad that in 2010 we still have Christians who take Scripture literally. But, they're not consistent as the Bible also says some things that they don't follow.
