PB statement on David Kato's murder
Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori has released a statement from Dublin on the death of human rights activist David Kato saying “His murder deprives his people of a significant and effective voice.”
Presiding Bishop Jefferts Schori’s statement:
At this morning’s Eucharist at the Primates Meeting, I offered prayers for the repose of the soul of David Kato. His murder deprives his people of a significant and effective voice, and we pray that the world may learn from his gentle and quiet witness, and begin to receive a heart of flesh in place of a heart of stone. May he rest in peace, and may his work continue to bring justice and dignity for all God’s children.
The Presiding Bishop presently is in Dublin, Ireland, attending the meeting of the Primates of the Anglican Communion.

Thank you Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, Primate and spiritually whole leader of The Episcopal Church Anglican Communion--finally a proper tribute to David Kato (we need not hold our breath for rationalized spiritualike generalizations from Bishop Orombi).
Complete acknowledgement of the unkind reality of depriving a vital life for LGBTI Anglicans/others AT CHURCH is important to LGBTI Christians/others in Africa and beyond--btw, from what I understand David´s ¨witness¨ wasn´t always so gentle and quiet as he was quite a no-nonsense type of Anglican...I admire that, especially in the face of self-righteous hypocrites who harm/condemn innocents at Church. Saying a BOLD ¨no¨ is necessary after lifetimes of persecution, discrimination and abuse from those who ought be preaching justice, peace and love amongst ALL brothers and sisters at the Body of Christ.
