Having graduated from Permian High School in Odessa, TX, the school upon which the book and this series is based, I watch the show with a mixutre of amusement and amazement. The reality is so much better AND so much worse than the writers could imagine. I did get an excellent education there.

Former contributor Micah Jackson writes:
The husband of the registrar at Seminary of the Southwest plays one of the coaches on the show. He hasn't ever had any lines, but he is frequently seen on the sidelines, at practice, or in coach's meetings. He's in the season premeire for a few seconds.
