Human rights activist and Archbishop Emeritus of Cape Town Desmond Tutu announced July 22 that he will retire from public life later in the year.

. . .

"Time has now come to slow down, sip Rooibos tea with my wife in the afternoon, watch cricket, and travel to visit children and grandchildren rather than to conferences and conventions and university campuses," Tutu told a July 22 media briefing at St. George's Cathedral in Cape Town.

I was hoping this was satire. It's hard to believe such an effervescent soul could retire from public life. We will miss you, but trust God there will be someone to take your place as a voice for good.

I love this quote from RNS
"Marrying Leah was the best decision I made in my life. Now I will have the time to serve her hot chocolate in bed in the mornings, as any doting husband should."
