Bishop Dixon: Give people choice
Former Episcopal Bishop of Washington, Jane Holmes Dixon, offers her thoughts on the reintroduction of the Latin Mass by the Roman Catholic Church,
If some Roman Catholics need and prefer the Latin Mass, who am I at this stage of my life to object? It is not my choice, yet the work I am doing now at The Interfaith Alliance is to help the American public appreciate and preserve the freedom to worship as they choose. I hope the Roman Catholic Church continues to give their people the freedom to choose the vernacular as well as Latin. Read her "On Faith" column here in the Washington Post.

God bless Bishop Dixon for endorsing the notion of the Vatican allowing access again to the Latin Mass.
In his wonderful book Once a Catholic, Peter Occhiogrosso interviews several lapsed Catholics -- including Frank Zappa -- who express fondness for the Latin Mass.
I hesitate to predict anything, as my predictions are often wrong, but I would be nothing less than shocked if the Vatican ever insisted that all Catholics must return to the Latin Mass.
