Cross country sabbatical
The Rev. Michael Russell, Episcopal priest in the Diocese of San Diego and essayist for Episcopal Café began his sabbatical Easter Monday. The difference between this one and most others is as follows:
I am now on sabbatical. My plan for it is to ride my bike across the country to raise money for our African ministries. You all can follow the ride at Speed of Bike. Not only can you donate there, but you will be able to see the actual path we ride each day! It is
so cool that you can, using Google Earth actually see the terrain ridden over as a little avatar bike ride the route. Just go the Coast to Coast page.Much of the route will be along old Route 66. If you look on the map and see that we will come near you... come out and wave at us on the road.
