St. David's Episcopal Church and marriage equality
St. David's Episcopal Church featured on KXAN TV news in Austin. Bishop Doyle has designated St. David's to become the first of two Episcopal congregations in Texas to officially "bless" same-sex couples.

St. David's is blessedly fresh and quite esteemed in many persons' views by being selected as a Texas diocese church to bless a loving union of two people who want their life cycle of home, work and church to be fully blessed. When I move to Austin, St. David's is getting my pledge! Bravo/a and thank you.

What a change. Back in the 80s I had to meet with the then-rector to get their bookstore to stop selling books claiming AIDS was divine judgment against homosexuals.

What's with the inverted commas around "bless" in the original post?

Dear Warren: if you click on more info on the video you will see the sentence is copied from the TV station's note.

The article likely says "bless" because same sex marriage is not legal in TX.

Thank you for the clarification, Ann Fontaine. I found the use of the scare-quotes rather a surprise on this site.
