Solidarity Rally with Hyatt workers at GC

Dianne Aid, Episcopal Network for Economic Justice, Jubilee Ministries, writes on the bishops and deputies listserve, shared with permission:

SOLIDARITY RALLY AND MARCH WITH HYATT WORKERS

Thursday, July 5th from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM begin at the Statehouse Steps and march to the Hyatt.

Friday, July 6th delivery of a letter signed by Episcopalians to the Mayor of Indianapolis opposing blacklisting of temporary employees. It is a common practice in Indianapolis for major hotels to hire house keeping and other service staff from temp agencies (thus not having to pay benefits, etc.). Once a worker works for a temp agency they are black listed from being hired directly by hotels in Indianapolis (this practice happens in other cities as well).
