Religious leaders call on G20 to remember the most vulnerable
The Most Rev. Rowan Williams and other Christian, Jewish and Islamic leaders are calling on the leaders of the G20 nations to remember the most vulnerable and the moral implications of their choices when they meet in London this week.

In an open letter, leading religious figures including the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, warn that to forget the most vulnerable “would be to compound regrettable past failures”.
The letter, signed by Christian, Islamic, and Jewish leaders, says that promises to the poor, especially relating to climate change “should not be forgotten or postponed. Even in these difficult times we strongly urge the leaders of the G20 to hold fast to the commitments they have made to the world’s poorest people,” they say.
“This is a moment for the world’s leaders to reaffirm their moral commitments,” Dr Williams said.
