What in the World is Going On in the Diocese of South Carolina?
The Episcopal Forum of South Carolina has announced information meetings for Episcopal Church loyalists in the diocese. The diocese has taken steps towards disengaging from the life of the denomination.
The Episcopal Forum of South Carolina, an affiliation of Episcopalians who assert loyalty to The Episcopal Church and oppose the Diocese of South Carolina's actions to disengage from the church, is holding a series of meetings around the diocese. The series is called "What in the World is Going On in the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina?"Follow the link for the place and time of these meetings. Further information at the Forum website.

The meetings follow a spring conference in Charleston that included a guest speaker, the Rev. Dr. Frank Wade, a priest and seminary professor. DVD copies of the [Enthusiastically Episcopalian] conference will be available at each of the meetings, which will feature a panel discussion of the issues, including:--House of Bishops meeting actions and reports.
--Diocese convention actions and reports.
--Implications of the decision by St. Andrews Church-Mount Pleasant to leave the Episcopal Church.
--The diocesan leadership's stated positions on these issues.

This sounds so hopeful. Of course the voices we have heard out of SC are not the only ones. It is never that simple.

Grandmère Mimi highlighted this story yesterday at her blog Wounded Bird. Also notes that the Rev. Dr. Wade, chaplain to the House of Deputies, will be in Albany for meetings too.
