The Saturday collection 10/3

Here is our weekly collection plate of a few of the good things that Episcopalians and their congregations have done that made the news this past week. And other news fit to print. There seems to be a lot of good stuff going on in Michigan.

The Rev. Joe Summers, vicar of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Ann Arbor, MI is involved in an extensive interfaith, multi-agency initiative to find jobs for former prisoners.

In New Bedford, MA, Grace Episcopal Church is part of a movement to stop gun violence.

An Episcopal Church in Grand Rapids, MI -- St. Mark's Episcopal Church -- played a role in bringing this Sudanese couple together after an eight-year separation.

The organic garden started by St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brighton, MI, which grows food to feed the hungry, got so big that it caught the eye of The Chicago Tribune. The church's website has more to feast your eyes upon.
