New group to handle ERD orders

Starting Monday, January 3, 2011, orders for Episcopal Relief and Development's posters, brochures, gifts and the coffee (don't forget the coffee!) will be handled by Episcopal Media Center of Atlanta.

Beginning January 3, 2011, Atlanta-based Episcopal Media Center (EMC) will be handling order fulfillment for Episcopal Relief & Development. The organization's previous vendor, Episcopal Books and Resources (EBaR), will continue to fulfill orders through December 3, 2010. In the interim, requests for small orders of brochures, posters and other resources should be submitted directly to Episcopal Relief & Development by emailing er-d@er-d.org or calling 1.800.334.7626 ext. 5129.

"The Episcopal Media Center is honored to support the vitally important mission work of Episcopal Relief & Development," said EMC's president, the Rev. Can. Louis "Skip" Schueddig. "Our decades of experience with congregations, clergy, Christian educators and lay leaders will hopefully enhance the good work of Episcopal Relief & Development."

EMC was founded in 1945 as The Episcopal Radio and TV Foundation. Today, operating under its corporate name, Alliance for Christian Media, it produces Day 1, the Peabody Award-winning radio and Internet program formerly known as The Protestant Hour. In recent years, EMC has become involved in order fulfillment, building a storage, shipping and inventory system that can handle large volumes of materials with ease. This will be key, as the transition comes at a very busy time for Episcopal Relief & Development - the organization's 2011 Lenten materials will become available in mid-January.

Episcopal Relief & Development's Chief Operating Officer, Esther Cohen, is "delighted" to be working with EMC. "They will be providing a wonderful service to members of The Episcopal Church and helping us to reach a higher level of engagement with our supporters and the Church at large," she said.

After January 3, please browse Episcopal Relief & Development materials online at EMC's website. For more information or to place an order after January 3, email sales@episcopalmedia.org, or call toll free 1.866.937.2772.
