Great interview.

One of the clearest signs of "Biblical illiteracy" (or "the death of Christendom", or something), is when as sharp an interviewer as Terry Gross can inquire---when told that TEC believes (as do all orthodox Christians) that Jesus Christ is "fully God, fully human"---if xDuncan's schism is because "he has a problem w/ the 'fully human' part."

[Then again, maybe xDuncan DOES have a problem with that orthodox claim! ;-/]

She says we can work for full inclusion of gays and lesbians AND do mission in the world - they are not mutually exclusive. Living with paradox is part of faith. Those who want everything solved will find difficulties -- my paraphrase.

I took the time to listen, and thought the interview went very well.

And, yes, I do think perhaps Duncan has some problems with the "fully human" part, inasmuch as some aspects of humanity seem redeemable and some do not.
