We have a bishop-elect in MN
On the fifth ballot the Rev. Brian Prior received the majority of votes by orders to win the election for the 9th bishop of Minnesota. The diocese's bishop search site has profiles of each of the candidates.
The Star-Tribune ran a good set of profiles on the candidates this morning. The diocese's press release, as well as the results of all five ballots, is on its mainpage.
Prior is from Washington state. In his autobiography prepared for the search committee he wrote:
I was called back to the diocese that sponsored and supported me for seminary and blessed to serve as Associate Rector with one of the most pastoral priests I have ever known. I was then called to serve on the Diocesan staff working with clergy and congregations as well as raising funds and then rebuilding the physical plant and program of my childhood camp. While working with two congregations I received the call to be part of starting a new faith community including building a new church with a small school. Along the way I have also been blessed to share my gifts in everything from a long stint as the President of the Standing Committee to Mission, Structure and Budget, from Executive Council to Vice President of the House of Deputies.At the General Convention of 2003 he served as Chaplain to the House of Deputies.
Upon consent and consecration Prior will be the ninth man to hold the position. The Rev. Mariann Budde who was close second in every ballot and had a strong plurality in the clergy order through the third ballot.

The Rev. Bonnie Perry and the Rev. Doyle Turner withdrew after the third ballot. The Rev. Douglas Sparks withdrew after the fourth.
Because Perry is a partnered lesbian the election drew more than the usual degree of interest.
