"Free" rectory for the taking

Need a rectory, a Goochland, Virginia church is giving one away. The only catch is that you need to move it offsite.

A church will give you a rectory if you'll move it
From the Richmond (VA) Times-Dispatch

Grace Episcopal Church in Goochland County is giving away a four-bedroom Dutch Colonial house with a slate roof and hardwood floors.

The catch is that the house, a former rectory, needs to be moved -- and updated.

"It's not historic. It needs a new roof, wiring, plumbing and windows," said the Rev. Rhonda Baker, pastor at the church.

. . .

"It has some nice features -- French doors -- a very typical house of the time and it's fairly well made, but it would take the right place and the right person"
