An Episcopal website for seekers? Does it exist?
I'd love to learn more about the Episcopal Church, what website do you recommend?
The Rev. Scott Gunn wonders what site might be best for "seekers" to visit. He can't come up with a good suggestion, can you?
Online missionary outpost?

I love encounters with those who are seeking God. I love people who have been moved by life’s vagaries to seek out a faith community. I love the open questions and the fresh desire of seekers. But there’s a challenge for me. It’s hard to give someone a sense of what the Episcopal Church is all about by email. If they want to meet with me over a cup of coffee or stop by the office for a chat, it’s pretty easy. I wish I could point folks to a fantastic website where they could get a sense of the Episcopal Church. It does not seem to exist. Alas.

I've been on a quest since two weeks ago, searching for "Book of Common Prayer" via the search box at http://www.episcopalchurch.org and finding only this message: "Sorry, but we could not find any results." Four clicks away from an internal webpage for worship appears this singular paragraph about the Prayer Book: http://bit.ly/8Yo7cu. Yet it reads like a Wikipedia article and wouldn't open this treasure for me if I were a stranger to our tradition. Of course, I'd never find it in the first place via the search box! I'd also never find that internal webpage for worship because searching for "worship" via the search box doesn't reveal it.
There's an online "Visitors' Center" at http://bit.ly/bjMhSN, but it's oddly not linked from the homepage of the Episcopal Church website above. So I guess I'd already have to know about that on my own. Needless to say, even if I somehow knew to search for "Visitors' Center" in the search box, it wouldn't help: "Sorry, but we could not find any results."
The Episcopal Church: "We're here for you. We're not, however, as forward-thinking and techno-savvy as we would like for you to believe. So good luck figuring out who we are!"

The best site for BCP is Charles Wohlers site. A great website for seekers is Jenifer Gamber's Your Faith Your Life and a companion site for teens My Faith My Life

The Episcopal Church home page used to have a "seekers" section prominently displayed. It had little essays on "what Episcopalians believe about...." topics. I used them as conversation starters in a Lent series four or five years ago. For whatever reason, they seem to have reorganized into a "if you know why you're here, we'll help you find the resource you're looking for" format (eg, Bulletin Inserts, ER-D, or "Sermons that Work").

I find Explore Faith - http://www.explorefaith.org/index.html - to be a good source for the kinds of questions seekers ask.

As long as people are willing to watch a LOT of videos, this new one is good, and aimed directly at seekers:
