Mr. McCourt's books helped me to understand my Irish Catholic upbringing and even sent me on a pilgrimage to Limerick, McCourt's and my great grandfather's Irish home. He captured many experiences which I had thought were entirely unique to my immediate family and it was a relief to realize it wasn't just us!

For his life and talents, I am grateful.
