A profile of Kansas Bishop Dean Wolfe

Five quick things you probably didn't know about The Rt. Rev. Dean Wolfe, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas, until just now:

1. He puts 30,000-40,000 miles on his car each year. (Given a 2003 start date as bishop, this has him traveling approximately the distance from the earth to the moon over the past eight years.)

2. He had a minister's license at age 16.

3. He was more or less acting COO of St. Michael and All Angels, Dallas (then the nation's largest Episcopal parish) when he was called to lead in Kansas.

4. A child at a soccer game once thought he was an athletic super-star because of his bishop's ring.

5. He graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary but, as with many of his colleagues, sits on the Board of Sewanee.
