Trinity Wall Street Rector: After confetti's cleaned up, come back on Sunday

After helping the Yankees celebrate title #27 this week, James Cooper, rector of Trinity Wall Street, issued a graciously-worded invitation to fans to come back on Sunday.

A homer by any measure, New Jersey native Cooper opined,

I am a fan of everyone and anyone, knowing there are no teams in God’s eyes. And I know most of all – despite it being a most un-Yankee-like quality – that in God’s game, the last come first, and the first last.

There were thousands at Trinity today on the day of the parade -- as big a community event as we will have all year. And so as we move further into autumn, I invite you one and all to return to Trinity Wall Street, a center of Lower Manhattan life nearly twice as old as the game of baseball.

We cannot promise that all will be ordered and right in life, that your team will always win, so to speak, but Trinity is a place practiced at reminding people that God’s promise is one of companionship.
