The ministry of writing images

Louise Shipps' ministry as an iconographer is featured today in the Savannah Morning News:

"‘At my age, I’m just not as active in community ministry as I was when I was younger,’ said Shipps, a life-long artist and wife of the Rt. Rev. Harry W. Shipps, former bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia. ‘I consider iconography a ministry. It’s important to me to use whatever gifts I have to give to the ministry.’

[...]Shipps developed her passion for iconography during a trip to Russia in the late 1980s.

The golden images captured her spirit so much that it launched a new direction in her work as a Boston University -educated artist."
