No bishops singled out
Although his take makes it seem otherwise, the real news in George Conger's story today is that the letter Rowan was supposedly writing to recalcitrants is actually going to ALL attendees. No one is being singled out. And look how many attendees there are:
Approximately 600 of the Communion’s 716 diocesan and 171 suffragan and assistant bishops have stated they would attend Lambeth, and more responses are expected to arrive in the coming weeks, a member of the conference team said.
Of diocesans that's 84 percent already.
As to what the letter will say, until we see the letter there is no way of knowing that it commits an attendee to accept anything in particular.

That's a bit clumsily worded on their part. I would guess it means 600 total out of (716+171) have stated they will attend - 67%, which is still pretty good.

This strikes me as consistent with what the ABC has said all along: we are in a process and want to make sure everyone is on board with the process -- not necessarily that this session of Lambeth will issue a final draft. Its the GS folks who keep spinning that language, and not Rowan. Many, such as myself, who are leery of details in the various drafts, are not absolutely opposed to some form of Anglican Covenant, particularly if it is centered on mission rather than membership.
