According to twitter reports this afternoon, the Diocese of Derby in England has voted strongly to reject the Anglican Covenant. The votes were 24 against and 2 for in the laity, 21 against and 1 for in the clergy (with two abstentions), and the bishop voted against it.
Derby joins a number of other Church of England dioceses who have rejected the Covenant, but this is by far the most lopsided margin we've seen yet.
Does anyone know if Derby is a bellwether diocese, or if this result is surprising?
We're also seeing reports on twitter from Lesley Crawley's stream that Gloucester has voted against the Covenant as well. We're hoping to find more information soon on that.
