ACNA's long strange trip
Scott Gunn reminds us all of just how peculiar an institution the Anglican Church in North America is, the odd things its leaders have said, and the chippy tactics they have used in their drive to punish the Episcopal Church for treating LGBT Christians as baptized members of the Body of Christ. And he suggests that the Church of England should watch its back.
Meanwhile, Simon Sarmiento reminds us of the long documentary trail that ACNA has left in its campaign against the Episcopal Church.

Thanks, Jim, and thanks to Scott for an excellent summary of this whole tragic business. I hope he will join all six (so far?) segments into a single document and post it. It should be required reading.

Sometimes the lights all shining on me
Other times I can barely see
Lately it occurs to me
What a long strange trip it's been

Bill,
Thanks -- I had broken it up partly because I posted each bit as I had time to write it, and partly because each one highlights a separate issue. However, I could join them together and post a PDF or something if folks would find that useful.
I'm also interested to know if there are other issues, episodes, or places that might be worth writing about.
Peace,
Scott+
