Why is Africa poor?

Why? In part because its coast line half as long as Europe's and its land mass is much larger.

Two economics professors have embarked on a MOOC (massive open online course) university. Their first course is Development Economics.

Here's episode one, Geography and Development: Trade.

They call their enterprise Marginal Revolution University after their economics blog, Marginal Revolution. Their first course is Development Economics. Try it, it's free.

One of their points: MOOC -- it isn't that hard. Then again, these guys are pretty sharp and they're whizzes at pedagogy.
