Musical chairs, Café style

If the old poem holds true, Sunday's child is "bonny and blithe, good and gay," while "Wednesday's child is full of woe."

I guess I'll find out. This is my last Sunday as the official Sunday blogger for Episcopal Café. It's also my first week as the official Wednesday blogger for Episcopal Café. I'm stepping into the chair held capably the past few years by The Rev. Peter "Santos Woodcarving Popsicles" Carey.

Peter has stepped out to pursue other enterprises but promises to return on a limited basis.

Meanwhile, I look forward to learning the midweek editorial routine - one I have largely taken for granted these past few years. I'll miss the freedom and eccentricity of Sunday publishing routines, but won't feel a bit bad about wanting to get in a "pastor's nap" every now and then on a Sunday, or even watch a football game.

After today, Sundays will be handled by our news team working in concert until the right person comes along.

See you in a few days!
