The press reflects on Rowan's reflection
Jonathan Petre of the Telegraph has the best story I've found so far on the significance of the reflection on the future of the Communion that the archbishop released this morning.
Update: the other stories I had cited here have been rewritten for later editions, and no longer contain the judgments with which I took issue.
The New York Times piece is here.

The first but not the last. The Canadians at least will join us in our exile probably also New Zealand and Scotland. IMHO the idea that the proposal will be other than TEC as second class members with full rights only to help pay the bills is wishful thinking. But who knows as was said in "Lion in Winter", "In a world where carpenters are resurrected anything is possible".

How is that African countries that consider women the lowliest of beings remain in the Communion, even though TEC and other countries don't subscribe to that point of view, while the TEC gets the boot, aka "associate members" , because of Gene Robinson? My mother always told me what's good for the goose is good for the gander...

I think it may not be accurate to consider being in the outer circle as "getting the boot." Once we get a look at this thing, we may be happy to choose that option.
