Canon Popoola speaks
Canon AkinTunde Popoola, director of communications for the Church of Nigeria, just posted a comment at Thinking Anglicans regarding his Church's support for the anti-gay legislation being considered by the legislature:
"I do not think speaking publicly against the bill will do the Gospel any good in our context."
He may be speaking of the Archbishop of Canterbury, who has not publicly opposed the bill. I don't think he can be speaking of his own Church, which has not opposed the bill because it has been busy supporting it.

". . .the Gospel. . ."
Whose Gospel?

Canon Tunde has never been a "source" for accurate information...that is especially true when reporting firstly the non-existance of Davis of Changing Attitudes Nigeria and then later tarnishes the character of Davis (even though he doesn't exist)...what can you do with a communications guy like Akinolas except to ignore him?

These people are too dangerous to ignore!

The Nigerian Primate and his allies have been exposed for what they are and the world continues to watch.
Unfortuntely, Canterbury has been exposed as utterly passive in the face of grave injustice in Nigeria, even while vocally opposing Gospel inclusion in North America. Shameful. But if this is the Anglican Communion he and others want....
