Bishop Curry interviews NC pastor who filed federal suit

The Right Reverend Michael Curry, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, interviews the Reverend Nancy Petty, pastor of Pullen Memorial Baptist Church in Raleigh, about the suit she and other religious and denominational leaders filed in federal court against North Carolina’s Amendment One, the law that prohibits all domestic legal unions except opposite-sex marriage.

Their suit is unique because it is the first to argue Amendment One infringes on religious freedom.

This is a very good interview by Bishop Curry. But, I could not help but wonder why the Dioceses of North Carolina (North Carolina, Western North Carolina and East Carolina), Episcopal clergy of the Dioceses of North Carolina (including the Bishops) apparently did not not join the lawsuit. Clearly The Episcopal Church agrees with the suit’s intent.
