Witness

Our sacred communion must include nature, the earth, and the intergalactic space of the universe—the firmament, the stars of heaven:

Witness
Our Mesa whispers in the soundless moonlight,
Witness to the transfer of responsibility
One generation to the next.
Keep the sacred consciousness of the land.

May we come to accept our true size within the universe, not just a spot upon the earth but less than a grain of sand within billions of galaxies. May we be humbled and keep our common fate in peace.

I love to scroll through the images at the Art Blog as I do my morning meditation. Looking back at all of them is a wonderful experience.
