There Is One Bread

JGiulianiBelovedDisciple_500.jpg

Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread. (1 Corinthians 10:17)

Seeds grow wheat
Grain ground to flour
Mixed and baked
Into One
Broken and shared
The spiral dance
Gathering and breaking
Gathering and breaking.

Seen above (and on home-page mastheads): “Jesus and the Beloved Disciple” by John Giuliani.

Thank you for posting art by the wonderful Father John Giuliani. I just had reason to steer people toward his art this week, too. My blog (the Jesus in Love Blog) focuses on Christian art for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and our allies. I’ve been posting images of a gay Jesus during Holy Week, and some followers lamented that they wanted more racial diversity. So I recommended this exact same icon by John Giuliani! And also the art of Janet McKenzie, who was featured here previously.

I also recommended this gallery of 10 queer and female Christ images with links to the artists:
